Antonina Banderova
Antonina is a mixed media artist. She grew up in Russia where she met and married her husband. Her journey with art started at a young age. After obtaining degrees in graphic design and fine arts she went on to work as a designer in the sports industry. Over the years she gained a vast knowledge of different mediums and techniques.
In 2016 she immigrated to British Columbia with her husband beginning a new inspiration from the rich, beautiful and endless landscapes and seascapes of Canada. Soon after they settled they became parents to a beautiful daughter. Since then, between learning how to be a parent and discovering what it means to be Canadian, she dedicated every spare moment to painting.
In 2021 her family relocated to Alberta where the mountain landscapes became her main subject. However, West Coast landscapes will always have a special place in her heart.
Antoninas current work is primarily in acrylics reflecting emotions and state of mind that she experienced while adventuring through Canada. Exploration, immersion, and observations in nature are essential to her development process. She takes a lot of photos when traveling to capture the exact moment of light and forms in order to work with them later in her studio. The time she spends painting is a window of calm and peace helping her to listen to her heart and create what it desires.
