The environment Jessy grew up in was peaceful and inspiring, living on a hobby farm in St-Basile-de-Portneuf, near Quebec city. He was always been drawing since he was a child. All the kids draw when they’re young but he never really stopped. Scanning and analyzed his surroundings, studying animal's shapes and paying attention the little details he was fascinated by anything from the natural world, and still is today.
His parents always encouraged him to draw. Jessy says, "I think they must have been happy to provide me with blank sheets of paper and pencils rather than having to invest in expensive hockey equipment!"
Jess took photography lessons in grade 8 and later, painting lessons with his brother. He has been a great teacher to him, and he’s now working full time as a well known tattoo artist.
In 2001, Jessy was acclaimed as the most skilled artist among all graduating students of his high school.
He has travelled across Canada, as well as visiting to the Yukon, Alaska and Mexico. A volunteering project brought him to Botswana in 2009, followed by a solo life changing backpacking experience through southern Africa.
Many different artistic projects and contracts gave him the opportunity to stimulate and challenge his imagination. The vast world of medieval fantasy provided me with all kinds of ideas for creation.
He also studied photography with the “New York Institute of Photography” through long distance courses from which I discovered much more than expected. Wildlife photography is what I enjoy the most, having to adapt and improvise constantly when dealing with animals.
"I’ve been living in the Rockies since 2006. I love and respect all forms of art, and flourish in my own creations."
