Paul Reid
Peter was born in Plymouth England and immigrated to Toronto Canada in 1964. For the past thirty-some years he has resided in rural Grey County with his wife on an idyllic 4-acre wooded property in the heart of Niagara Escarpment country, which has a wealth of beautiful landscapes.
The creative process has been strong throughout his life - from the time he could first hold a crayon. Art class every Friday was the highlight of his week in public school. Peter then attended C.W. Jeffries in North York, a high school with a dedicated arts program, followed by four years post secondary schooling at the Ontario College of Art.
Like many famous Canadian painters he worked in the commercial art field, raising a family and paying the bills, while developing and exploring his craft. He is an avid painter working mostly in acrylics although on occasion works in oils, water colour and cold wax (similar to encaustics).
Striving to improve and share his knowledge, Peter began teaching classes. This created a greater understanding of teaching and led to authoring three books as well as paid You-tube videos. Peter's teachings developed into a group of talented painters who have raised more than $20,000 for their community and local charities through donated art.
